It’s Been A While

Hello.

Miss me?

Oct 3

God is secure in his heaven, but humans are insecure about god’s security.

Stay

Stay a day, stay a week

Stay a fortnight, stay a month

Stay a year, stay a decade

You will always leave a piece of you behind.

That piece is called memory.

Fasting

‘Here, have some chewing gum,’ said my assistant, offering me a sugar free chewing gum.

‘Thank you, I’m fasting,’ I replied.

‘Oh, it’s okay. It’s sugar free,’ she said, a bit more enthusiastically.

I paused for a split second to think, smiled, and said: ‘It means I don’t eat and drink from sunrise until sunset.’

‘Are you on a diet?’

I laughed.

And I remembered that the day before my chair broke and sent me thudding heavily to the floor.

I laughed some more and explained the concept of fasting to her.

Midnight Ramblings

I slipped, and fell.

Down I go.

Down

Down

D

            O

                              W

                                                 N

Down where people don’t recognize me, don’t recognize who I am, don’t recognize what I am.

Down where people lost their identities (who am I?).

Down where identities no longer matter.

I am at peace. I am sleepy. I am sleepily at peace. I am peacefully sleepy. Is it bliss? or is it ignorance?

(and in the voices of midnight the children sang about blue and black)

(and in the back of their heads tremolos danced their red dance and described the color of time)

Time (come to me)

Time (release me)

Time is the thief sneaking in to steal your life.

Time is the snatcher of chances.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-chances! Turn and face the glances.

It’s time I go to sleep. The blissful ignorance of the little slices of death.

It’s Past Midnight

Do you know where you are?

Sunday Afternoon

Cheese, beer, and a few good friends.

Bitburger, the beer that Erik Lehnsherr drank in a villa in Argentina while he tracked down Dr. Schmidt a.k.a. Sebastian Shaw.
This bottle of brew cost me VND 24,500 or about IDR 10,200. Beer is cheap here and they drink it like water. Saigon, a very popular local brand claims that last year they sold 1 billion liters of beer.
