Are you awake?
Stare
Yeah, I have this habit of staring at people.
I stare at pretty people to find their flaw, and therefore identify them as human.
And I stare at ‘ugly’ people to find their beauty, and therefore identify them also as human.
And I always find them: the flaws and the beauty.
And it strengthen my belief that the world—the whole universe—is created equal.

She told me she missed me. She blamed me for not visiting her often enough.

Last Night...
…I tried my first snake meat.
It was minced, seasoned, wrapped in leaves and deep fried.
It tasted like beef, but the teeny-tiny bones are annoying.

Kini ia hanya terbujur kaku dalam peti kaca di tengah-tengah ruangan. Dingin. Beku.

Suatu hari gue, istri dan beberapa teman sehabis makan enak di salah satu restoran Vietnam otentik di Saigon ini memutuskan untuk nongkrong di trotoar sebelah katedral. Ceritanya mau sambil menikmati kopi Vietnam yang segelasnya antara 3000 - 4000 perak dan rasanya jauh lebih enak daripada warung kopi cap putri duyung dari Seattle itu.

Kasur
Jadi, di Vietnam ini hampir semua barang bisa dibawa dengan motor. Buah, sayuran, TV 42 inci, kulkas dua pintu, motor, hingga kasur.
Yep. Kulkas, motor dan kasur. Dibawa dengan menggunakan motor. Sepeda motor, bukan perahu motor. Sepeda motor.

Kira-kira 2-3 minggu lalu gue memergoki seorang Saigon yang memboncengi kulkas dua pintu, beberapa hari...
